The United States Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns, for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns (SDVOSB) or for Small Business. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for DRY-DOCK repairs to the USCGC ALDER (WLB-216), a 225 FOOT ?B? CLASS SEAGOING BUOY TENDER. The USCGC ALDER (WLB-216) is homeported in PORTSMOUTH, VA. The performance period will be SEVENTY (70) calendar days with a start date on or about 3 JUNE 2008. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, cleaning and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC ALDER (WLB-216). This work will include, but is not limited to: (1) Flush the CPP Heat Exchanger, (2) Clean and Inspect Chain Lockers, (3) Clean and Inspect Sea Bay, (4) Clean and Inspect Fuel Tanks, (5) Preserve Fuel Tanks, (6) Relocate A/C ASW Overboard Discharge, (7) Inspect Controllable Pitch Propeller System, (8) Perform Anchor and Anchor Chain Maintenance, (9) Preserve Freeboard, (10) Preserve Buoy Working Areas, (11) Renew Transducers and Preserve Transducer Hull Rings, (12) Preserve Weather Decks, (13) Preserve Underwater Body, (14) Resurface Shower Deck Covering, (15) Overhaul SORS Cargo Hatch Dogs, (16) Stern Tube Seawater Supply Modification, (17) Inspect Propulsion Shaft Seal Assembly, (18) Routine Dry-docking, (19) Renew Capastic Fairing, (20) Install Color Echo Sounder, (21) Provide Temporary Logistics. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. At the present time, this acquisition is expected to be issued Full and Open with no set aside.
