The contract titled "J065--GE Imaging Maintenance & Service" is a firm-fixed-price, sole source award issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 23, based in Saint Paul, MN. The contract covers maintenance and service for GE Precision Healthcare imaging equipment across approximately 170 Veterans Health Administration facilities within VISN 23, which includes states such as Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The period of performance for the base contract runs from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026, with one one-year renewal option available. The procurement is justified under FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1) as a sole source acquisition due to the proprietary nature of GE Healthcare’s imaging systems, necessitating original equipment manufacturer (OEM) maintenance to ensure equipment integrity, compliance with VHA standards, and operational uptime commitments. The total award amount is approximately $2.33 million. Key elements of the contract include the requirement for OEM-trained field service technicians located within five hours of each facility, ensuring rapid response times including a guaranteed four-hour onsite response for urgent service needs. Services encompass scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, preventive maintenance, software updates, remote support, and detailed documentation compliant with Joint Commission standards. The statement of work mandates adherence to OSHA safety regulations and government cybersecurity protocols for remote access. The contractor is restricted from subcontracting without prior written approval, emphasizing tight quality and control measures. Inspections and service acceptance take place at the destination sites, with documentation including service reports, parts usage, and performance logs. The contract does not specify FAR clauses or packaging requirements but does include mandatory compliance with regulatory and safety standards appropriate to medical equipment maintenance. The contracting officer for this award is Cameron Rick, who oversees the administration of the contract from the Network Contracting Office 23. This contract represents an extension of an existing IDIQ vehicle (VA797H-17-D-0024) under which GE Healthcare holds sole responsibility for post-warranty service on its proprietary imaging equipment across the VHA system.

6525--SEP 2026 Equipment Only Consolidation
Solicitation # 36A79727Q0002
Solicitation 36A79727Q0002 is a HUBZone Small Business set-aside issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs National Acquisition Center for the September 2026 Equipment Only Consolidation. This procurement focuses on High Tech Medical Equipment (HTME), specifically targeting various imaging systems such as XR RAD, XR US, XR CT, and XR MRI for delivery to multiple VA VISN networks and stations. Competition is strictly limited to current contract holders with the VA National Acquisition Center or the Defense Logistics Agency, Troop Support. Offers are due by February 3, 2027, and must remain valid for 180 days. The government will award based on best value, where non-price factors—specifically the availability of required features and the availability of service—are considered significantly more important than price. Technical evaluations will assess how well equipment meets functional requirements and the vendor's ability to provide local and virtual technical support, repair parts, and documentation. Vendors must provide individual product pricing, as bottom-line prices will be rejected, and must treat upgrade requests as forklift upgrades with separate trade-in values. Submissions must be uploaded as a single ZIP file to Box, following strict naming conventions and folder structures, and must be accompanied by a timestamped email to the Contracting Officer. Required documentation includes a completed pre-procurement assessment questionnaire for network-connected devices. Additionally, the contract specifies that while applications training is awarded with equipment, off-site training is excluded from delivery orders and must be handled as separate modifications.
