The contract involves a modification to the original scope of work for upgrading telemetry tracking drive systems. The revised work scope focuses on bringing five meter SGLS antennas to an optimal configuration for satellite tracking and commanding. Key tasks include supplying and installing three motors (two operational and one spare), one new servo amplifier, two new gear heads (one for each axis), and two new drive pinions. The contract also requires increasing the gear train ratio, adding extra vertical backup bracing stiffening brackets for the reflector mounting, and aligning the feed axis to ensure proper collinearity and boresighting with the reflector. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for performing onsite integration, validation testing, and acceptance testing procedures to ensure the upgraded system functions as intended. The work is to be performed for the Department of Defense under the solicitation number N0024405T0084, managed by the Navsup Fleet Logistics Center in San Diego. The modifications represent a shift from a broader drive system refurbishment to a more specific enhancement of the antenna’s tracking and commanding capabilities.
