THIS PROJECT WAS FORMERLY ENTITLED: "F -- FALL VIEWING OF 2008/2009 THINNING/SLASHING/PILING" This project is being solicited as "2008 Hand Tree Thinning, Slash Treatment and Pruning". It is being posted to FBO on May 21, 2008 and will close on June 10, 2008. --- BACKGROUND - The Forest Service is in need of precommercial tree thinning and stand improvement activities to reduce the tree density and, by the deliberate selection of leave trees, improve the overall health and condition of the stand based on the prescribed objectives. Tree selection and cutting of undesirable or excess trees will provide space for the leave trees to grow and develop and reduce the incidence of insect and diseases that affect growth and undesirable tree qualities. --- Scope of Work: The solicitation is for tree thinning and stand improvement activities on Kootenai National Forest Land, Rexford Ranger District. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit.
