L--INCREASE TO THE LEVEL OF EFFORT UNDER CONTRACT N00024-05-C-2224 FOR THE POST SHAKEDOWN AVAILABILITY OF THE LPD 17 AMPHIBIOUS TRANSPORT DOCK SHIP

The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to modify contract N00024-05-C-2224 with BAE Systems – Norfolk Ship Repair to increase the level of effort for Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) work on the LPD 17 amphibious transport dock ship, San Antonio. This modification aims to address Government-responsible deficiencies, incorporate approved engineering changes not completed during the original construction period, and perform additional work identified between ship delivery and the commencement of PSA. Since BAE Systems is uniquely positioned as the only capable contractor under the existing agreement, the modification will be awarded solely to them.
