Full Description

The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), located on the National Naval Medical Campus in Bethesda, MD, has a requirement for the purchase of different kinds of library furniture to accommodate different study styles while maintaining an open and inviting appearance. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested. This is a request for quotations (RFQ) in accordance with FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. It is the responsibility of the contractor to monitor FedBizOpps for any amendments to the solicitation. This RFQ incorporates all provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-32. EVALUATION FACTORS Award will be made based on price, and suitability of the item for use at the desired location. Award will be made on a best value determination considering price and non-price factors in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 - Evaluation - Commercial Items Clause. - 1. 1. Technical - Offerors are to provide product literature demonstrating the product(s) quoted meets the minimum specifications, samples of the materials (i.e. wood finish, fabric colors), and warranty information - 2. 2. Delivery - Offerors are to quote prices based on an estimated delivery date in mid July 2009 - 3. 3. Price (to include delivery) - Offerors are to provide the unit of issue, the unit cost and the total price for the aforementioned estimated quantities The contractor shall provide pricing as specified in the attached solicitation (1449). Further instructions concerning the specifications of the furniture is found in the attached statement of work. An Excel spreadsheet is attached to clarify that the quoted items meets the minimum specifications. Interested offerors must submit the completed SF 1449, material samples, and a completed Excel Spreadsheet as part of their quote package. Additionally, offerors must complete 52.212-3 (Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items) and 252.225-7035 (Buy American Act-Free Trade Agreements-Balance of Payments Program Certificate) contained in the SF 1449. Interested offerors must also provide DUNS number and tax identification numbers. Multiple awards will be considered based on best value to the government. USUHS reserves the right to award without discussions. All questions must be directed by email to contact@example.gov and contact@example.gov (as secondary contact). Questions must be received by 12:00p.m. (EST) on May 25th, 2009. Responses to questions will be addressed as amendment to the RFQ. No questions will be answered over the phone. Quote packages shall be accepted by mail only with a confirming quote emailed to me. Both must be submitted by the due date. No other method of submission will be accepted. Quotes with samples are due June 3, 2009 at 12:00 PM EST.
