LITTLE CALUMET RIVER, INDIANA, LOCAL FLOOD PROTECTION, STAGE VIII, HAMMOND AND MUNSTER, INDIANA

NOTICE: THIS PROJECT WAS PREVIOUSLY SYNOPSIZED UNDER ANNOUNCEMENT NUMBER W912P6-08-B-0005, WHICH WAS POSTED ON May 2, 2008. By way of this Announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its LITTLE CALUMET RIVER, HAMMOND AND MUNSTER INDIANA project. The Contractor will be required to provide all necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials and equipment to construct a flood protection system consisting of approximately 9,100 linear feet of earthen levee, 7,350 linear feet of concrete capped, steel sheet pile floodwall, 350 feet of access ramps, a 130 foot span prefabricated, pedestrian bridge (including two concrete abutments), 25 storm sewer outlets (with associated flap gate, flex valves, precast catch basin, and necessary piping). Construction of approximately 8,000 lineal feet of recreation path, with appropriate signage, will also be a feature of this project. The estimated magnitude of cost for construction is between $15.0 Million and $20.0 Million. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990, with a business size in dollars of $33.5 Million. COMPETITION IS UNRESTRICTED TO BUSINESS SIZE. The due date for bids will be on or about 2 June 2009, at 2:00 PM Chicago Local Time.
