The NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) Exchange is soliciting information from interested parties regarding potential methods for providing food services through a single food service concession agreement at the center. This Request for Information (RFI) is intended solely for planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to contract. The intent is to gather data to support the development of a future Request for Proposal (RFP), which may be issued to award a concession agreement with a minimum five-year term, potentially longer depending on performance. The Exchange operates a single full-service cafeteria with approximately 150 daily customers, currently managed by a small business contractor, and also maintains separate vending services managed by another vendor. The goal of the incoming program is to enhance the quality of life and satisfaction of roughly 3,300 center personnel by increasing customer engagement, offering appealing and nutritious food options, maintaining attractive and sanitary facilities, promoting nutrition awareness, and employing innovative marketing and technology approaches. Respondents are encouraged to propose innovative strategies and alternative approaches to meet the Exchange's objectives, which include increasing average daily customer participation, improving service quality, providing diverse cuisine options, and supporting a dynamic catering program for various events. The Exchange is open to various operational models, including traditional cafeterias, food courts, food trucks, or branded/unbranded restaurants. Submissions are limited to ten pages and must include organizational contact information, a recommended strategy, and demonstration of the capability to meet the outlined requirements. Responses are due by November 20, 2012, and must be submitted electronically. All information provided will assist in shaping the forthcoming solicitation, and participation in this RFI does not preclude involvement in future formal procurements.
