Mossdale Tract Area Urban Flood Risk Reduction Project

The Mossdale Tract Area Urban Flood Risk Reduction Project, managed by the San Joaquin Area Flood Control Agency, is a comprehensive infrastructure initiative covering 22,400 acres across Stockton, Lathrop, Manteca, and unincorporated San Joaquin County. The project focuses on the RD 17 levee system along the San Joaquin River and French Camp Slough, utilizing State Plan of Flood Control standards. Key deliverables include the construction and maintenance of flood risk reduction components, dryland levee extensions, fix-in-place improvements with revegetation, ecosystem restoration, and the integration of recreational features along the levee system. The project is subject to strict environmental and safety regulations, including compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act and oversight from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, which may require Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements for activities affecting aquatic resources.
