"In support of the processing of applications and petitions for adjudication of immigration benefits, the National Benefits Center (NBC) Records Operations Contract (ROC) provides non-inherently Governmental services that encompass a wide range of pre-processing activities in order to accomplish the mission-essential functions required at the NBC. The primary functions of this contract include, but are not limited to, Correspondence Management (e.g., courier services, file and mail management, and monetary instrument handling); Case Preparation (assembly of various applications or petitions in accordance with USCIS policies and procedures); File Control and Maintenance (e.g., file merging, A-File creation, and case updates); Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) scanning (the scanning of all documents within a file(s) and the upload into the designated FOIA system); and Program Management. NBC ROC services are provided at the NBC locations in Lee's Summit, MO and Overland Park, KS.
NBC's mission is to create and support the centralization of the pre-processing required to support the Field Offices under the Field Office Directorate (FOD). NBC ROC supports the following mission critical functions: (1) Mail, File & Data Entry/scan support for over 2.5 million applications annually (2) Support for Freedom of Information Act requests (3) Large-scale file room operations, reducing the need for records support staff and space at field offices (4) Pre-processing activities for over 3 million applications and petitions annually (5) Case preparation and review for approx. 800,000 Adjustment of Status applications (6) Initiation of requests for initial evidence for approx. 300,000 Adjustment of Status applications annually (7) Manual Name Harvesting for security checks, saving officer resources and improving processing times (8) Tracking and monitoring of case work and adjudication-ready cases (9) Management of workflows for over 1 million records adjudicated at the NBC."
