This project is in San Luis Obispo (SLO) County on Route 41 from 0.8 miles north of the 41/46 Separation to San Luis Obispo/Kern County line. This project proposes to rehabilitate 12.149 lane miles (LM) of flexible Class 2 pavement using Minor Pavement Rehabilitation Capital Preventive Maintenance (CAPM) strategies including but not limited to placing 0.20' Rubberized Hot Mix Asphalt (RHMA) overlay, cold plane 0.15’ (in areas where necessary to conform to retaining walls), remove and replace the existing dike, and update guardrail to current standards. Two non-jurisdictional culverts that are in poor condition will be replaced by cut-and-cover method at Postmiles (PM) 48.0 and 49.3. The culvert replacement work will be confined to the paved roadway surface to the maximum extent feasible to minimize soil disturbance. Construction is expected to take place over approximately 82 working days. During construction, full traffic closures with a detour will be required in the daytime, but the road will be reopened to traffic during the evenings. Night work is not proposed. Construction activities will occur entirely within State Right of Way (ROW). No tree removal or significant vegetation removal is proposed as part of the project.
