NOTICE OF AND REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION - MORGUE FACILITY USE

The County of Hawaii, through the Hawaii Police Department, is requesting an exemption from competitive procurement under Chapter 103D, HRS, to secure non-exclusive use of the morgue facility at Kona Community Hospital located at 66 Haukapila Street, Kealakekua, South Kona, Hawaii. This exemption is necessary to allow the department to conduct forensic autopsies and pathology services on individuals who were not pronounced deceased at the hospital, using the facility and its equipment. The request includes a license agreement with a fixed fee of $27,302.40 for facility use and a per-unit charge of $250.00 for body transport services to and from the morgue container. The contract period is scheduled from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027.
