Contract Overview
Solicitation details, issuing organization, response deadlines, documents, and interested companies for this government contract opportunity.
AI Contract Overview
The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center’s Department of Perioperative Medicine intends to acquire three Valleylab FT10 Energy Platform machines from Covidien Sales LLC via a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order under the Federal Acquisition Regulation’s Simplified Acquisition Procedures. These devices will replace outdated bovie units and are essential for performing scheduled surgical procedures. The FT10 is uniquely equipped with TissueFect technology, which monitors tissue impedance 434,000 times per second to optimize energy delivery and is the only system compatible with the department’s existing Ligasure hand pieces, justifying the sole source determination. The acquisition falls under NAICS code 339112 and Product Service Code 6515, with performance located at Bethesda, MD, and is exempt from standard competition requirements due to the unavailability of alternative products that meet operational needs. Interested parties may submit comments or capabilities before July 8, 2026, to Kristin Nagashima at the NIH Office of Purchasing and Contracts, though the government retains full discretion on whether to proceed without competition.
