Full Description

Recommending contractor response to repair leaking Boiler 60 tube located in Building P-1. Boiler 60 is currently not certified due to tube leak found during overhaul and internal inspection performed on August 2024. This leak has since been adjudicated and during the operational testing on February 2025, a new leak was found on the same tube that was repaired. The repair of the tube requires an ‘R’ stamp qualified welder in accordance with ASME requirements. Boiler 60 requires certification to support heating season during natural gas curtailment and provide redundancy in operable boilers in Naval Station Norfolk.
