The NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center San Diego plans to award a sole source contract to Steelcase Inc., located in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for the procurement of additional office cubicles that integrate with an existing office design. The contract will be executed through the only authorized local Steelcase dealer, BKM, based in San Diego. This sole source acquisition is justified under FAR 6.302 because Steelcase is the exclusive provider of the specific interconnected office cubicles already in use, ensuring compatibility with the current office layout. The government intends to negotiate directly with Steelcase without soliciting competitive quotes, as no alternative suppliers are known to offer the required product. The contract falls under NAICS code 337214 with a business size standard of 500 employees. Interested parties wishing to provide information about their capability to meet the requirement must submit detailed company information by the specified deadline of August 29, 11:30 AM PST, via email. However, this solicitation is not a competitive request; the government may decide independently to proceed with the sole source award if no responses suggesting viable alternatives are received. The point of contact for this acquisition is Charles Bruce at NAVSUP FLCSD.
