AI Contract Overview

The contract involves a sole source procurement with Greer Communication, located in Clarksville, TN, for Zetron paging equipment to support an existing paging system already installed by this company at Fort Campbell, KY. The decision to limit competition to this single source is based on Greer's unique design and original installation of the system, as well as the high costs and inefficiencies the government would face if attempting to source the equipment elsewhere. The procurement will follow Simplified Acquisition Procedures under the statutory authority allowing for non-competitive awards, as outlined in FAR regulations, with an unrestricted award anticipated. Although not a request for competitive bids, other firms may submit written notifications and evidence within four days of the synopsis posting to potentially demonstrate their capability, but the government retains sole discretion over pursuing competition. The specific equipment required includes multiple components such as the Paging Terminal Model No. 905-0198, various interface cards, modems, voice controllers, system prompts, equipment racks, and an uninterruptible power supply specifically for the paging terminal. Responses to this notice are due by September 29, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. CST and may be submitted via email or fax, though telephone inquiries will not be entertained. Points of contact for this procurement are provided to facilitate communication. The contract falls under NAICS code 443112 with a business size standard of $8 million, with the work being performed at Fort Campbell under the Department of Defense’s MICC office.
