Park Avenue Well and Verano Avenue Well ASR Projects NOE

The Valley of the Moon Water District is overseeing the Park Avenue Well and Verano Avenue Well ASR Projects in Sonoma County, California. The primary focus of this effort is the operation of the new Park Avenue Well, which replaces a previous extraction well. This updated facility has been converted into a dual-purpose system capable of both extracting water and pumping water back into the aquifer. The project is located on Park Avenue between Chestnut Avenue and Hemlock Avenue. On August 4, 2026, the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water issued a domestic water supply permit amendment for the project. The operation of the replacement well is categorized as exempt under California Code of Regulations sections 15301 and 15302, as it involves the use of existing facilities for replacement or reconstruction without expanding capacity or altering the facility's intended use. The project adheres to various Public Resources Code sections and is managed by the District Engineer and General Manager.
