SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking sealed bids from qualified vendors to provide a comprehensive patient television programming and infrastructure solution across its hospital facilities, including University Hospital, Golisano Children’s Hospital, and Community Hospital. The project aims to deliver a range of content, such as traditional cable TV, educational channels, live internal site feeds, and customized hospital information to approximately 850 televisions, primarily located in patient rooms. The system must seamlessly integrate with existing room controls, including pillow speakers, nurse call systems, and lighting controls, eliminating the need for additional remote devices in patient rooms, while utilizing existing remote controls in common areas for basic channel navigation. The procurement process involves a mandatory pre-bid conference, and vendors must meet all specified technical and bid qualifications outlined in the RFP (S-1459), available on Upstate’s website. The contract, valued between $500,000 and $2 million, will be awarded for a five-year term, covering all NYS counties, with a due date for submissions set for July 12, 2024. The process is under a restricted procurement period in accordance with NYS lobbying laws, emphasizing strict communication protocols. Small businesses and those certified under NYS Article 15-A are encouraged to participate, with the primary point of contact being Marguerite Dodd, Contract Administrator.
