The contract seeks the procurement of 200 printed wiring flex cables specifically designed for repairing stablator amplifiers on Blackhawk helicopters. These cables, manufactured exclusively by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, are critical components that meet stringent specifications (DMWR 11-6615-306) and have no acceptable substitutes as Sikorsky owns the proprietary drawings and previously incurred development and testing costs. The acquisition is being conducted on a sole source basis under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302, highlighting that the government intends to negotiate directly with Sikorsky without issuing a formal written solicitation, although it will consider any quotes received by the specified deadline. The flex cables are designated with National Stock Number 5998-01-124-5428 and Sikorsky part number 70902-01965-104, and are to be delivered FOB destination to Springfield, Missouri. This solicitation uses the North American Industry Classification System code 334511, pertaining to electronic component manufacturing, with a business size standard of 750 employees. The announcement serves as the only solicitation notice and clarifies that while it is not a competitive request for quotes, responses will inform the government's decision on whether to pursue competition. The point of contact for this procurement is Ms. Shirley Zbinden, who can be reached via email or fax for additional information.
