The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is seeking potential contractors to provide clerical support services across several locations in South Dakota, specifically Bison, Lake Andes, Mitchell, Pierre, and Rapid City. Currently, these services are performed by government personnel, and the agency intends to conduct a Direct Conversion with a Cost Comparison Study to determine if outsourcing the work is more cost-effective. Offerors are cautioned that a contract will only be awarded if the cost of contract performance is less than the cost of continuing to use in-house government staff. This notice is not a solicitation but a sources-sought announcement to gauge interest and capability within the industry before a formal solicitation is issued around April 21, 2003. Interested businesses are requested to submit their interest via email or fax by April 7, 2003, providing specific details including size classification (large or small), any relevant small business designation (such as small disadvantaged, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, Hubzone, or woman-owned), and certification status under the Small Business Act if applicable. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. The NAICS code related to this requirement is 561110. The solicitation, once released, will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities website, enabling qualified vendors an opportunity to compete for the clerical support services contract.
