The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) plans to extend its existing contract with DigitalNet Government Solutions, LLC, originally identified as Contract No. PBGC01-CT-98-0567. This extension will last seven months, continuing through September 30, 2004, with an estimated workload of 42,000 hours. DigitalNet will maintain its support role for the agency’s Premium Accounting System, focusing on business operations and data capture. The extension is intended to provide sufficient time for the PBGC to conduct a re-competition process, ensure uninterrupted operations that only the incumbent contractor can deliver, and facilitate a smooth transition before the peak operational season. This contract extension also aligns with the agency’s Business Process Re-engineering efforts currently underway, allowing PBGC to optimize outcomes before moving forward with new arrangements. Notably, no Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued in connection with this extension. Gregory N. Smith serves as the contracting officer overseeing this modification, which underscores the agency’s intent to maintain service continuity and leverage the existing contractor's expertise during this transitional period.
