The National Park Service plans to enter into a sole source contract with the State of Michigan Department of Management & Budget for the purchase and installation of tower top amplifiers critical to law enforcement communications. These amplifiers will be installed on existing Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS) radio towers owned by the State of Michigan, specifically towers 8201, 9102, and 9104. The contract is unique in that Michigan already maintains an exclusive agreement with Motorola as the sole provider and installer for equipment on its radio communication towers, prohibiting other vendors from supplying or installing telecommunications equipment on this system. This notice serves as an intent to award the contract and not a solicitation for quotes or proposals. Communication regarding the contract must be made in writing via email to the designated point of contact, Ryan R. Begany, at the National Park Service, with no phone inquiries permitted. The contract falls under the NAICS code 624230 and is managed by the Department of the Interior, MWR Ohio office. The primary focus is to ensure the continued robust operation of law enforcement communications through the procurement and installation of the specified amplifiers within the established framework of the existing Michigan state contracts.
