Full Description

The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Telecommunication Operations Center (TOC) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302 Other Than Full and Open Competition, with Global Management Systems Inc (GMSI), to provide technical support in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring and documentation of the software for the Radar Central Collection/Distribution System (RPCCDS). The NWS developed a capability via the AWIPS Wide Area Network (WAN) to collect radar products from the NWS, FAA and DoD Doppler Weather Surveillance Radars (WSR-88D) in the U.S. and GUAM and to make them available to users both inside and outside the NWS via the cooperative efforts of the Network Control Facility (NCF) and NWS Telecommunication Gateway (NWSTG). The radar products include all the Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) Information Dissemination Service (NIDS) products. This dissemination capability is RPCCDS. The period of performance is for one base period plus two 1-year options. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested companies may submit an affirmative response to the requirement within 10 days from the posting date of this notice to contact@example.gov or fax to +1 (555) 000-0000. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephone requests will be honored. Award will be made under commercial simplified acquisition procedures, FAR Subpart 13.
