Reach 2 Mowing and Grading (OM-SLFD-2026-005)

The Reach 2 Mowing and Grading project, identified by solicitation number OM-SLFD-2026-005, is a forecast for routine maintenance along the California Aqueduct. The Department of Water Resources will perform mowing and grading on both the left and right sides of Reach 2, spanning from mile marker 46.20 to 70.90. This work is located within the DWR right of way across Stanislaus and Merced counties, specifically in the unincorporated area of Santa Nella, covering the area from Check 8 to Check 13. The scope of work requires the use of a motor grader with approximately a 15 foot wide blade to maintain established roads. Additionally, a tractor with a pull behind mower attachment will be used to mow 10 feet on either side of the roads, with blades maintained at 6 inches above the ground. The project is classified under NAICS code 237990 and has been granted a Notice of Exemption under CEQA Class 1 for existing facilities, as the activities will not impact special status species or habitats.
