RECOVERY--RECOVERY - THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE TO CONTRACTORS UNDER GSA SCHEDULE GS-07F-0034J. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, intends to award on a Sole Source basis to Silver Ships, 9243 Bellingrath Road, Theodore, AL 36582 for the procurement of one, self-propelled 34 Crewboat for the Kansas City District. The Philadelphia Marine Design Center (MDC) performed a validation survey utilizing other manufacturers with GSA schedules for comparison. As a result of this search, approximately 48 manufacturers were surveyed, which resulted in most vessel builders not having vessels of similar size or nature in their product line or if they did have a vessel of comparable size, they had the wrong hull type. A few of the manufacturers showed similar vessels in form and function; however, they were much higher in price. This notice of intent is NOT a Request for Competitive Proposals. No contract award will be made on the bases of this notice. This notice does not constitute a solicitation document and request for such documents will not be considered. However, all information received within three (3) calendar days after date of publication of this notice will be considered SOLELY for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information received. The applicable NAICS Code for this requirement is 336612 with a size standard of 500 employees.
