AI Contract Overview
The contract requires the rental of an articulated boom type underbridge inspection vehicle equipped with a communication system to maintain verbal contact between the vehicle’s platform and the main control station. The contractor must also provide a driver for the vehicle, while the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will furnish personnel to operate the basket. This vehicle will be utilized by USACE structural engineers to inspect seven Corps-owned bridges located across Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Because some bridges have small turning curves and narrow decks up to 10 feet curb-to-curb, the inspection vehicle’s weight must adhere to the lowest limits specified in the provided bridge list to ensure proper access. Additionally, the contractor must supply necessary traffic control items including cones, safety flags, and various signage such as "Road Closed," "Lane Closed," "Men Working," and handheld "Stop/Slow" signs to be used as needed at the inspection sites. The solicitation is a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 532490 with a size standard of $40 million. Vendors must have an active registration in SAM.gov at the time of submission to be considered responsive. The solicitation was issued by the US Army Corps of Engineers New England District in Concord, MA, with a submission deadline of May 18, 2026.
