Req 44943 - HVAC Replacement for Smithers Air Quality Station

The Province of British Columbia, through its Procurement Services Branch, is soliciting quotes for the replacement of an HVAC unit at the Smithers Air Quality Station, located on the grounds of Muheim Memorial Elementary School. The scope of work includes the removal and disposal of an existing Bard exterior wall-mount unit, the supply and installation of a new 1.5 Ton air conditioner and heater, and the subsequent commissioning of the equipment. The new unit must be a non-ducted wall-mount or split system with a cooling capacity of 17,800 BTUH, an EER of 11, and a 5 kw heat strip, operating on 230/208 Volts single phase. The system must be capable of maintaining a stable internal temperature of 21 degrees Celsius plus or minus 2 degrees in a 115 square foot insulated portable building. All installation work must be completed by October 30, 2026, and the Ministry reserves the right to cancel the purchase order if this deadline is not met. Bidders are required to submit a mandatory Specifications Summary and a signed submission declaration via BC Bid; failure to provide the technical compliance matrix will result in disqualification. There is a strong preference for proponents located within 150km of the site, and per Addendum 1, submissions from U.S.-based suppliers will be disregarded. The contract is governed by the Province of British Columbia's standard purchase order terms and conditions, requiring compliance with CSA or ULC electrical safety standards and the maintenance of appropriate insurance coverage.
