The Department of Defense’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking details on commercially available Applied Clinical Epidemiology (ACE) systems to support the Air Force Medical Service’s goal of enhancing clinical decision-making through advanced information management and technology. The focus is on systems capable of aggregating emerging clinical discoveries and facilitating precision care by tailoring treatment options to individual patient needs at the Point of Care. The data gathered will enable objective assessments of existing biomedical technologies and guide their integration into clinical workflows involving the entire healthcare delivery team. Responses to the RFI were originally due in August 2011 but the submission deadline was extended to August 23, 2011. This RFI is intended strictly for information gathering and planning purposes, with no contractual obligations or compensation involved, and vendors are cautioned against submitting proprietary information as all data received will be considered public. Interested parties are requested to provide company details, including nature of business, contact information, a brief description of capabilities and products, and any relevant cost data such as pricing or GSA schedule information. The government will use the collected information to perform comparative analyses and validations of commercial ACE systems but does not plan to issue a Request for Proposal or award a contract based on this RFI. Non-technical inquiries and submissions are directed to the Contract Specialist, while technical questions can be addressed to the designated technical contact.
