Request for Information (RFI) Barriers: Fences and Jersey Walls DUE: June 6, 2011 The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, Advanced Technology Branch (Code 52130) is seeking information on commercially-available barriers, fences, and jersey walls designed to halt vehicle-borne traffic to protect physical assets and facilities. The barriers can also be used as a second line of defense to shield from blasts and explosions caused by the detonation a car bomb. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Authorized Equipment List (AEL) item number for this equipment is 14SW-01-WALL: Barriers: Fences and Jersey Walls. The target audience for this information is the emergency response community, and all submittals should be suited to their specific needs. Review of this information is being performed for the DHS System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which aims to conduct objective comparative assessments and validation of commercial equipment and systems and provide those results with the emergency responder community. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used in SAVER Program documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, URL, revenue, and number of employees. 2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor. 3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contacts phone number and e-mail address. 4. Product name and a brief description (75 words or less) of each barrier or specification sheets for each barrier model. 5. Cost information such as purchase price and General Services Administration (GSA) schedule information. The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in SAVER projects. If a SAVER project on this type of equipment is executed, the equipment selection will be based upon a number of factors, including responder surveys and focus group inputs. Consequently, follow-up requests for feedback should not be made through Federal Business Opportunities posting agency.
