The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic (SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic) is seeking information on Medical Device Implant Tracking solutions through a Request for Information (RFI). The goal is to develop Air Force requirements for an electronic bi-directional tracking database that manages medical devices implanted or explanted at Medical Treatment Facilities, particularly to efficiently handle device recalls. This system must track non-tissue medical device implants and explants, maintain patient records including those who received such devices, identify patients affected by specific manufacturer recalls, notify them promptly, and manage patient identifiers such as Social Security numbers or unique IDs. Additionally, it should document any patient refusal to release personal or health information. The RFI is intended solely for information gathering and planning, with no immediate contract award or payment involved. Interested companies are asked to provide basic company details, their role as manufacturer or distributor, a contact person, a brief overview of their product capabilities, and any relevant pricing or GSA schedule data. Responses were due by the close of business on November 3, 2011, and should be sent to designated technical and contract points of contact. All submissions will be treated as public information, and proprietary data is not requested.
