The Mission & Installation Contracting Command at Fort Jackson plans to extend the existing contract W91247-10-C-0022 with the South Carolina Commission for the Blind for an additional six months, from March 1, 2012, through August 31, 2012. This extension, authorized under FAR Clause 52.217-8 and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), is based on the determination that only one responsible source can meet the agency's requirements for full food services at Fort Jackson, and no other providers offer suitable alternatives. The extension will maintain the current scope of services and pricing as stipulated in the original contract, ensuring seamless continuation of food service operations without disruption. This notice serves to inform interested parties that the option to extend services was not evaluated during the initial contract award and is now being executed to maintain service continuity. While this is not a solicitation or request for proposals, responses within seven calendar days will help assess whether genuine competition exists for future follow-on contracts. Monthly task orders will be issued under this extension, with competitive procurement planned for subsequent contracts. Questions or responses should be submitted by December 21, 2011, to the designated contract specialist via email for further consideration.
