AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Defense Health Agency is seeking information through a Request for Information to assess industry capabilities for the storage of a small molecule compound library at a contractor-owned facility in Fort Detrick, Maryland. This RFI is not a solicitation and does not obligate the government to award a contract; responses are voluntary, at the respondent’s own expense, and will not be returned. All proprietary information provided will be handled with confidentiality, but no binding commitments will result from submissions. The agency is specifically interested in hearing from firms that are not the current storage contractor and requires detailed explanations on how they would manage the transition of storage duties while the chemical inventory remains intermingled with materials covered by an ongoing disposal contract. Respondents must address assumptions and plans related to access to contractor-controlled property, inventory segregation, transfer of custody, scheduling, cost estimation, regulatory compliance, and safety protocols. The RFI closes on July 22, 2026, and responses must be submitted in accordance with the attached instructions and capability statement requirements. Questions regarding the future RFP’s composition or requirements will not be entertained at this stage.
