Lehman College of The City University of New York is seeking to establish a sole source agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific for the purchase of a fully integrated and configurable ion chromatograph system. The system, known as the Integrion, must feature advanced capabilities including high-pressure operation up to 5000 psi, integrated detection options such as conductivity and electrochemical detectors, and compatibility with various detection systems like UV/VIS, MS, and ICP as optional add-ons. It should incorporate features like remote monitoring, consumable tracking via RFID or embedded memory, inert PEEK fluidic components, and control from an optional tablet. Additional optional features include a thermally controlled detector compartment, an upgraded column oven, in-line vacuum degassing, and optical leak detection for safety. The system must meet regulatory standards such as EPA Methods 300.0 and 300.1, and ISO 10304-1, ensuring compliance for environmental and laboratory testing. The system's pumping mechanism must be a dual-piston PEEK pump capable of operating at pressures up to 6000 psi with precise flow control, compatible with a wide pH range and various solvents. The eluent generation feature, which is field-upgradable, uses electrolytic processes to produce various chemical gradients with minimal maintenance and enhanced safety, reducing operator exposure to hazardous chemicals. The system is designed for flexibility, allowing for various gradient profiles, low-level concentration adjustments, and optional accessories like a built-in vacuum degasser and Viper fittings. This purchase is a one-time procurement intended for use across all NYS counties at Lehman College’s Bronx campus, with the contract deadline set for February 1, 2024. Interested vendors who believe they can offer equivalent products or services are encouraged to contact the designated purchasing agent.

Lehman College of The City University of New York intends to enter into a sole source agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific to purchase a totally intergrated and configurable io chromatograph. If you believe that your company can offer the same product/services, feel free to contact Raj Mohabir, Lehman College Purchasing office at contact@example.gov.   The system will provide the following attributes:   Integrion unique system includes: A totally integrated and configurable ion chromatograph consisting of at least an HPIC pump with the ability to be field upgradeable to include any or all of the following; conductivity detector and cell, electrochemical detector and cell, column oven, degas, eluent generation, consumable tracking, and tablet control.  1) Must be high pressure compatible, i.e. capable of continuously operating and displaying chromatographic results at pressures of 5000 psi using the appropriate high pressure consumables.2)Electrolytic eluent generation must be offered as an option and integrated into the system.3)Must be able to be configured with conductivity and/or electrochemical detection. The detector must be integrated into the system. Other detection systems such as UV/VIS, MS, and ICP must be available as an option.4)Must have remote monitoring software as an option.5)Must have as an option the ability to track all consumables, including suppressors, through either an embedded memory chip or radio frequency identification (RFID) tag.6)Must have an electrically controlled eluent on-off valve, electrically controlled injector valve, electrolytically regenerated suppressor, and the appropriate columns.7)Must have inert, nonmetallic PEEK (polyether ether ketone) fluidic components throughout the system flow path to ensure solvent compatibility and metal contamination-free chromatography.8)The system must be fully controllable from an optional tablet.9)An optional factory installed thermally controlled detector compartment must be available.10)An optional field upgradable column oven must be available.11)Must utilize optical leak detection for laboratory safety and management to allow fast responsewww.thermofisher.comto system leaks.12)Suppressor must be operated continuously. Suppressor regeneration must be carried out electrolytically in either recycled or external water mode. .13)Must allow for advanced single-range digital output that is autoranging with operating range to 15000 ?S/cm full-scale and single-range analog signal output to 15000 ?S/cm.14)Must have, as an option, a built-in vacuum degas assembly which provides in-line degassing of eluents ensuring reproducibility and protection of eluents from contamination and decomposition. Control of the degas operation must be able to be automated to sense when degassing is required.15)Must have as an option Viper fittings. The fittings offer lower dead volume and require no extra tools or training to install and use.16)The IC system must meet the requirements of EPA Methods 300.0 and 300.1 Parts A and Part B, ISO 10304-1, or equivalent local standardized methods.PUMPING SYSTEM1)Must be a PEEK dual-piston pump (in series), microprocessor controlled, constant 10 mm primary stroke length, and variable speed with Isokinetic Eluent Precompression.2)The heads must be compatible with aqueous eluents of pH 0 – 14 and reversed-phase solvents.3)The pump must be fully controlled through software; alternative control via TTL or relay closures.4)The maximum operating pressure must be at least 6000 psi (0-41 MPa), pressure ripple 5)The flow range must be 0.000–10.000 mL/min without changing pumps or pump heads in settable flow increments at 0.001 mL/min.6)The pump must have, as an option, a piston seal wash, which can be operated when connected to rinse solution supply.7)Pump must be capable of running 2 mm to 9 mm i.d. columns without modification of the pump heads.8)Must allow for user-selectable high- and low-pressure limits to automatically stop the pump in the event of leaks, flow restrictions, flow blockages, or empty eluent reservoirs. The upper limit must be at least 0-6000 psi or 0-41 MPa in one unit (psi or MPa) increments; lower limit must be settable up to one unit lower than upper limit setting.ELUENT GENERATION1)Eluent generation must be a field upgradable option and integrated into the system to reduce overall footprint. Eluent Generation is an electrolytic process by which eluent is generated and subsequently purified by means of electrolysis. The eluent concentration is varied by changing the applied current which allows gradients formations without the use of extra pumps, fittings, or valves. The electrolytically generated gradient must be infinitely variable throughout a single run.www.thermofisher.com2)Eluent Generation reduces the overall maintenance of the pumping system by exposing the pump and its wetted components to just deionized water. No abrasive salts or corrosive acids or bases are present to reduce the longevity of pump seals.3)Eluent Generation must enhance the safety of the system by reducing the operator’s exposure to hazardous chemicals as it is self-contained.4)Eluent generation is not dilution of an eluent concentrate with water by the use of a burette type device. This procedure does not allow the ability to change concentration throughout a run without the use of additional mechanical devices such as valves.5)Eluent types generated: standard pressure - KOH, LiOH, NaOH, Carbonate, Carbonate/Bicarbonate, and MSA: high pressure - KOH and MSA.6)Gradient supported must be an unlimited number of; linear, convex, concave, or inverse gradients profiles.7)Concentration range from 0.1 to 100 mM with a flow rate from 0.1-3.000 mL/min.8)Concentration increments as low as 0.1 mM are required in order to optimize chromatographic peak resolutions and optimize separation time.9)Eluent Generator must be placed in the high pressure side of the instrument.
