Spawner Surveys
The City of Bellingham is seeking a qualified contractor to conduct salmonid spawner surveys on Whatcom Creek, Padden Creek, and Squalicum Creek within City limits. The purpose of this program is to document adult salmonid migration, spawning activity, species composition, and habitat use to support long‑term watershed and fisheries management. Surveys will follow Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) protocols and the City’s internal field methods contained in Spawner Survey Methods – Updated 2017‑12‑13 (Attachment C). Surveys must be completed at 7–10 day intervals between September and March each year.
