Los Angeles Air Force Base (LA AFB), the sole active duty base in the Los Angeles area and home to key Air Force space acquisition units, is hosting its annual Sports Day event on July 24th. This event, which attracts over 800 military personnel, their families, and civilian employees, is designed to foster team building and morale. The base is seeking commercial sponsors to support the morale, welfare, and recreation activities during this event. Sponsorships can be monetary or in-kind, and sponsors will receive public recognition proportional to their level of support, including logo and name visibility on event media such as banners, posters, brochures, and media coverage. The solicitation is open to multiple sponsors, with restrictions on alcohol, tobacco companies, and defense contractors or their affiliates, as outlined by Air Force Instruction 34-407. Unsolicited offers are subject to review to ensure no conflicts with existing agreements or barred contractors. This sponsorship opportunity does not involve the obligation of government appropriated funds, as it is conducted through a non-appropriated fund instrumentality. Interested companies must request copies of the solicitation by July 10, 2009, and can contact Angela Lindemuth for further information. As the only active duty base in the LA area, Los Angeles Air Force Base (LA AFB) is home of the 61st Air Base Wing and Space and Missile Systems Center - the Air Force's premier space acquisition center. Located in the heart of the city near LAX, LA AFB is home to military and their families, as well as an employer to over 6,000 civilian employees. Every year LA AFB hosts a base wide day of team building and esprit de corps which draws a crowd of over 800 people. This is a great opportunity to raise customer awareness of your company with this exclusive military demographic. Sponsorship is fundamental to the success of this event. Los Angeles AFB invites you to join in supporting the morale, welfare and recreation of our military and their family members by becoming a commercial sponsor for Sports Day this 24th of July. Sponsorship may take the form of monetary or in-kind contributions. In appreciation for your sponsorship, your company will receive public recognition and exposure. The level of exposure is determined by the level of sponsorship, with all sponsors prominently acknowledged throughout the event. Sponsor exposure may include name and logo recognition on all event print media, including posters, signage, banners, brochures, pictures and media coverage. More than one sponsor may be accepted and additives will be considered. Requests for copies of this solicitation must be received no later than 10 July 2009. All offers will be considered. Under paragraph 4.1 of Air Force Instruction (AFI) 34-407, we are unable to solicit sponsorship from alcohol or tobacco companies, or from defense contractors, including their affiliates, subcontractors, teaming partners, or joint venture partners. Depending on the circumstances, unsolicited sponsorship offers may be accepted if those offers are not in conflict with existing contracts, memorandums of agreement or understanding, or detrimental to business relationships between military and existing civilian contractors. Unsolicited offers are not accepted from barred contractors. If your company is disqualified due to the above criteria, we ask that you do not respond to this sponsorship solicitation. This is a solicitation for commercial sponsorship by a non appropriated fund instrumentality of the United States Government and does not obligate appropriated funds of the Government.
