Supplement 304 Frozen Pork Loin Roast & Chops - May 2026

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Marketing Service is soliciting qualified contractors to supply Frozen Pork Loin Roasts and Boneless Center-Cut Pork Loin Chops under Supplement 304, with an updated scope effective through May 2026. The contract includes formal additions such as FPPS - Pork Loin Roasts, Boneless, Frozen, and modifications to the Best-If-Used-By date range, now set between 180 and 365 calendar days from production, along with a redefined domestic origin requirement and updated labeling guidelines requiring colored label language. Products must conform to IMPS Item Number 1413, PSO 1, with pork chops weighing exactly 4 ounces plus or minus half an ounce and a tail length not exceeding one inch. Sodium content must not exceed 70mg per 100 grams, and all products must be processed no more than 30 days prior to shipment, frozen to no higher than 0°F within 72 hours of fabrication, and subjected to metal detection for stainless steel, ferrous, and non-ferrous contaminants. Packaging specifications mandate vacuum-packed primary packages of either one pound (four chops) or 3.5 to 6.5 pounds per roast, with shipping cases configured as either six roasts per case (net weight 30±4 pounds) or forty primary packages per case (net weight 40 pounds). Only one size and configuration per shipping unit is permitted. All shipments must be palletized on new or well-maintained pallets and shrink-wrapped, with temperature continuously maintained at or below 0°F from loading through delivery. Each shipping case must bear the USDA shield at least two inches high, the purchase order number, a traceability code tying back to establishment number, production lot, and date, a nutrition facts panel based on actual analysis, and the applicable material number (110380 or 111940). Primary labels must include product name, manufacturer details, ingredient declaration, nutrition facts, cooking and safe handling instructions, and the Best-If-Used-By date.
