The City invites Proposals from qualified suppliers for the supply and delivery of one (1) new mid-size battery electric-powered vehicle (EV) that can comfortably seat five (5) adults. The City may purchase additional units of the same vehicle from the Supplier at the same unit price and under the same terms and conditions of this RFP for a period of one (1) year from the date of the Agreement – further explained in Section 3.4.The proposed vehicle must meet all mandatory requirements set out in Section 4.1 and the specifications detailed in the eight mandatory tables within the bid form in bids&tenders. Failure to meet any mandatory requirement will result in the Proposal being deemed non-compliant.The scope is further described in Section 5.0 – Scope of Requirements.As a high-level summary, Proponents should note that this RFP is for mid-size EVs only. For the purposes of this procurement, the proposed EVs must:Have a minimum driving range of 350 kms,Have an overall vehicle length between 4,572 mm and 4,978 mm, inclusive,Have a ground clearance of 127 mm or higher, andHave either a CCS or a NACS charging port and support DC Fast Charging.The above four (4) requirements are mentioned here only to provide context regarding the type of EV sought under this RFP. However, the above represent only a small subset of the mandatory requirements. Proponents are responsible for ensuring that their proposed vehicle complies with all mandatory requirements set out in the bid form in bids&tenders.The vehicle needs to be delivered in operating condition to the City of Nanaimo, Public Works Yard, Fleet Department – located at 2020 Labieux Road, Nanaimo, BC – V9T 6J9.This Request for Proposal is subject to the New West Partnership Trade Agreement, the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (Chapter 5), and the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (Chapter 19).
