Tree Trimming and Removal Services

The City of Aurora, Illinois, is soliciting proposals under RFP 26-087 for professional on-call tree trimming and removal services to maintain its urban forest. This initiative is supported by a 1 million dollar grant from the USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Program, funded through the Inflation Reduction Act. The selected contractor will provide comprehensive arboreal services, including routine and corrective pruning, hazard tree mitigation, complete tree removal to grade, and stump grinding to 8-12 inches below grade. Services will be performed across City-owned properties, parks, and public rights-of-way, with a requirement for 24/7/365 emergency response capabilities ranging from two to eight hours depending on the urgency. All work must adhere to ANSI A300 and Z133 standards, OSHA regulations, and Illinois Department of Transportation specifications. The City will award the contract based on the best overall value, evaluating proposals using a 100-point system weighted across pricing (30%), organization and staffing (25%), qualifications and experience (25%), and project approach (20%). Proposers must submit their bids electronically via OpenGov by September 30, 2026, including a bid guarantee of at least 10% of the total proposal amount. Due to the federal funding source, the contract includes strict compliance requirements regarding the System for Award Management (SAM) registration, Buy America provisions, and non-discrimination standards.
