Truck Bed Upfit

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources is seeking competitive bids for a gooseneck-compatible, storage-capable truck bed upfit for a 2024 Ford F-350 Crew Cab XL Single Wheel Cab and Chassis with a 60-inch cab-to-axle ratio. The vehicle is intended for dual use as a Wildland Fire Suppression Engine (Type 6) and for hauling equipment via gooseneck and pull-behind trailers. The required upfit must be a tradesman-style steel body in black or silver from a bonafide manufacturer, prohibiting custom or scratch fabrication. Key technical specifications include a bed length between 9 and 9.6 feet, a deck treadplate of at least 3/16 inch, 4-inch channel frame rails, a 24,000 lb 2-inch rear hitch, and a 30,000 lb gooseneck hitch with a turnover ball flush mount. Additionally, the bed width between storage boxes must be at least 49 inches, and the unit must feature DOT-approved marker lighting and rear LED work lights with a lifetime warranty. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with priority given to DSBSD-certified micro or small businesses. Bids must be submitted via the eVA portal by September 21, 2026, at 4:30 PM EST, and must include a signed copy of the Quick Quote, detailed technical specifications, and commercial warranty information. The upfitted truck must be available for pickup by November 6, 2026, at a vendor facility located within 100 miles of the Department of Wildlife Resources region 1 office in Charles City, Virginia. Compliance with the Commonwealth of Virginia Vendors Manual, Executive Order 61, and various non-discrimination and labor laws is required. Payment for invoices exceeding 5,000 dollars will be processed within 30 days of delivery and receipt of a valid invoice.
