The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Baltimore District will be completing maintenance dredging in the upper half of the Wicomico River, Wicomico County, MD. Material will be placed at an existing upland placement site near the river named Sharps Point located in Salisbury, MD. The Magnitude of Construction is $4,000,000.00 to $8,000,000.00. The construction duration will be approximately 120 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.The scope includes using a hydraulic dredge and pipeline in the upper portion of the Wicomico River to remove material to its authorized depth of 14 feet. Approximately 250,000 cubic yards of material consisting of silts, sand, clays, mixed shell, gravel and other materials will be dredged and placed at the Sharps Point site. Minor construction of two weir boxes will also occur at the placement site prior to dredging operations.
