AI Contract Overview
This contract involves providing specialized inspection, grooming, and verification services for the Machinery Plant Control Monitoring System aboard the US Coast Guard Cutter Sturgeon Bay (WTGB-109), a 140-foot icebreaking tug. Scheduled for performance from January 5 to January 9, 2026, the work focuses on ensuring operational readiness by conducting comprehensive hardware and software inspections, system grooming tasks such as reseating connectors and correcting wiring discrepancies, calibrating sensors with traceable equipment, and installing authorized firmware updates. The contractor must perform operational testing across propulsion, auxiliary, and safety systems, validate alarm functions, and ensure data integrity, culminating in the submission of detailed reports, calibration certificates, and component replacement logs. Final acceptance hinges on resolving all faults, verifying alarm and sensor functionality within specified tolerances, and obtaining sign-off from the designated Engineer Petty Officer. The procurement is a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 336611, with the solicitation posted on December 9, 2025, and a response deadline of December 15, 2025. The contract is awarded via JOTFOC, emphasizing streamlined, performance-based requirements rather than traditional FAR clauses, which are not explicitly included in the documentation. The work location is in Bayonne, New Jersey, at the cutter's home port, with the Coast Guard responsible for final acceptance based on compliance with Coast Guard policies and operational standards. Deliverables include inspection reports, calibration documentation, and component logs, with coordination primarily managed through the designated Engineer Petty Officer. The contract emphasizes strict adherence to safety, calibration, and documentation protocols, ensuring the cutter’s critical systems remain fully operational and compliant with Coast Guard requirements.
