Veterans-Barstow Acquisition Project

The City of Fresno Capital Projects Department is initiating the Veterans-Barstow Acquisition Project to acquire a 0.99-acre parcel, identified as APN 505-220-59, located at the southwest corner of North Veterans Boulevard and North Bryan Avenue/West Barstow Avenue in Fresno, California. The project aims to develop a passive park that provides a protected path of travel and rest area for pedestrians and bicyclists. Planned improvements include the installation of ADA-compliant pathways, benches, tables, bike racks, landscaping, and irrigation systems, as well as the filling of an existing ponding basin. No new vehicle parking will be constructed, and all operations are restricted to daylight hours. The project is classified as a forecast and is categorically exempt under Section 15303/Class 3 of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), as it involves the construction of small facilities with a limited footprint and no significant environmental impact.
