Well #10 - Exterior Cathodic Protection System

The contract pertains to the installation of an exterior cathodic protection system for Orem City Well #10, targeting the construction and commissioning of an impressed current, deep well anode grounded system complete with a new anode, well casing header cables in rigid hot-dipped galvanized conduit, a new well casing test wire, a rectifier, and a junction box. The work must be performed in Utah within 90 days of the Notice to Proceed, with strict adherence to technical specifications and drawings prepared by Hansen, Allen & Luce, Inc. and Infinity Corrosion, designated as CP-1 through CP-5. All components must meet detailed packaging and labeling requirements, including original manufacturer tags on rectifiers and junction boxes, coiled and bound lead wires, and marked downhole wires with footage identification. The deep anode well must be drilled by a Utah-licensed water well driller in compliance with state regulations. Payment is structured around progress estimates submitted no more than monthly and at least ten days prior to each due date, requiring detailed documentation of work performed, materials stored on-site, and all change orders listed separately with values rounded to the nearest dollar. The Engineer has ten days to approve or deny each payment request with written justification. The contractor is required to submit comprehensive testing reports and a final field report documenting system installation and performance, with functional testing verified by a certified Corrosion Expert to ensure AC power delivery to the rectifier and full DC output capacity. All work is subject to inspection, and the contractor must provide a seven-day advance notice prior to final acceptance testing, which involves participation from the Owner, Engineer, and the contractor’s superintendent and quality control personnel.
