The contract involves the procurement of environmental remediation services for the Annapolis Lead Mine Site, specifically Operable Unit 1, located near Annapolis, Missouri. The site, situated adjacent to the Sutton Branch Creek Flood Plain, features lead-contaminated tailings covering roughly 10 acres. The scope includes excavating sediment from creek depositional areas, stabilizing stream banks with rock, and placing excavated sediment into the existing repository, followed by capping and revegetating. Additional erosion control tasks such as grading, construction of drainage channels and berms, dirt excavation, filling erosion ruts, and site revegetation are also part of the work. This procurement will be conducted under a firm fixed price contract with performance incentives, estimated at $400,000. The project must comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including CERCLA, SARA, and the National Contingency Plan. The solicitation is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside issued by the EPA Region 7 Contracting Office. The invitation for bid was anticipated to be released around late May 2007 and is targeted to specialized contractors capable of handling environmental remediation in accordance with Superfund program requirements.
