The Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, intends to award a sole source extension modification to contract W911S7-12-D-0008 with KONE Inc. of Moline, Illinois, for elevator maintenance and repair services. This action is being conducted under FAR 6.302-1, as KONE Inc. is identified as the only responsible source capable of satisfying the agency's requirements. The specific extension period covers two months, from January 1, 2014, through February 28, 2014, providing necessary continuity of service while the government publicizes and awards a new competitive solicitation, W911S7-14-R-0006. This procurement follows a previous non-competitive four-month extension valued at 60,124.00 dollars that ran from September 1, 2013, to December 31, 2013. The extensions were implemented to allow the government sufficient time to revise the Performance Work Statement and conduct a thorough competitive procurement process based on market research. While the government is proceeding with a sole source award, interested parties were given a limited window to provide clear and convincing evidence of their technical capabilities and pricing to demonstrate that competition would be more advantageous to the government.
