Connect OpenClaw to CLEATUS

Point your OpenClaw agent at the CLEATUS MCP server, sign in once, and let it run a daily business development loop.

OpenClaw agents connect to CLEATUS through the CLEATUS Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Add the server to your agent and sign in once. The agent can then watch for new opportunities, triage them against your capabilities, and keep your pipeline current on a schedule.

Who this is for

This article is for CLEATUS users who run an OpenClaw agent and want it to do recurring capture and business development work.

What you'll need

  • A CLEATUS account on the DATA + AI plan or higher. Your subscription must be active, or your trial must be started.
  • An OpenClaw agent that can use remote MCP servers.

Your CLEATUS sign-in is the only credential that the connection uses. You do not paste an API key.

Set up the connection

1. Let the agent set itself up

In CLEATUS, open Settings > Integrations. In the AI Assistants & Agents section, click the MCP card, then copy the prompt under Set up with one prompt. Send the prompt to your agent. The agent reads the CLEATUS documentation, adds the server, and sends you the sign-in link.

To add the server by hand instead, add https://www.cleat.ai/api/mcp/mcp to the MCP server list of your agent.

2. Sign in

Open the sign-in link. The Connect to CLEATUS page opens. Sign in, pick the company under Select company, and click Authorize. A person must do this step. The agent cannot sign in for you.

3. Give the agent a loop

Tell the agent what to do on each run. For example: "Every morning, pull new CLEATUS recommendations. Add anything that scores above 70 to the pipeline with a one-line reason."

What the agent can do once connected

  • Discover: Search federal, state, and local opportunities and forecasts. Get your ranked recommendations.
  • Evaluate: Read the summary, Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) sections, and documents of an opportunity. Research awards, agencies, contractors, and contracting officers.
  • Pursue: Add opportunities to your pipeline and update pursuits. Create and assign tasks, and manage saved searches.
  • Automate: Create, activate, and run your CLEATUS workflows.

Each action runs as your CLEATUS user, with the same permissions as the web app. The tools are free to call. They do not use credits.

Keep the agent signed in:

The sign-in renews each time the agent uses it. If the agent does not call CLEATUS for 30 days, the sign-in expires and a person must sign in again.

Troubleshooting

  • The agent finds no pipeline, tasks, or saved searches. It is signed in to the wrong company. Remove the server, add it again, and pick the correct company.
  • The sign-in page says "Upgrade required". The MCP server is on the DATA + AI plan and above. Upgrade your CLEATUS plan, then sign in again.
  • Unauthorized errors after it worked before. The sign-in expired or was revoked. Sign in again from the link that the agent sends.
  • Rate-limit errors. Each sign-in gets 100 reads and 30 writes per minute. Spread the work of the agent across more runs.
  • Still stuck? Email support@cleat.ai with the time of the failing request.
