Phase II engineering services are required for the preparation of engineering studies, contract drawings, specifications and project related permits for noise abatement wall reconstruction on the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) from I-55 to Army Trail Road, MP 12.7 to MP 29.6, in DuPage County, Illinois. Engineering services from 63rd Street to Butterfield Road/Illinois Route 56, MP 17.2 to MP 22.6 will be omitted from this contract. The work generally encompasses noise wall studies and design and shall include, but not be limited to, the following items: • Noise study • Design of noise walls • Landscaping and soil erosion/sedimentation control • Geotechnical services as required to support the above items The consultant will also be required to provide pre-concept design services and prepare associated engineering plans, that include horizontal and vertical geometry information, to inform noise studies as well as ensure that proposed noise abatement walls are located such that they will not be impacted by future roadway reconstruction.
