The project involves environmental remediation at the Former Hernan-Norge Village Cleaners located at 11905 Wilshire Boulevard in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The scope of work focuses on addressing tetrachloroethylene contamination in the vadose soil zone resulting from past dry-cleaning operations. Key activities include the excavation and offsite disposal of approximately 3,500 cubic yards of contaminated soil, as well as the installation of both a soil vapor extraction system and a vapor intrusion mitigation system. These activities will be executed through the implementation of a Removal Action Workplan. The project is managed by the Department of Toxic Substances Control Site Mitigation and Restoration Program and was approved on November 17, 2025. In compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act, the project utilized an Addendum to a previous Sustainable Communities Environmental Assessment conducted by the City of Los Angeles. The project has been determined to have no significant environmental effect, provided that the adopted mitigation measures and monitoring plan are followed.
