The Naval Air Systems Command plans to issue a firm fixed price contract modification to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, located in San Diego, CA, under the existing NAVAIR contract N00019-05-C-0040. The contract focuses on modifying the nosecones of the BQM-74E production targets by integrating AN/DSQ-50A Scoring Antennas to meet specific operational requirements. Northrop Grumman is uniquely qualified as the sole designer, developer, and producer of the BQM-74 Aerial Target system, including both the nosecones and the scoring antennas, possessing exclusive access to proprietary hardware, technical data, and experienced personnel necessary to execute the work within the required timeframe. This contract is not a solicitation for proposals but a directed modification under an existing agreement, reflecting the specialized nature of the work and source limitation. The procurement falls under NAICS code 336414 and is managed by the Naval Air Systems Command based in Patuxent River, Maryland. The point of contact for this contract is Contracting Officer Michael J. McLoughlin. The effort ensures the continued enhancement and functionality of the BQM-74E aerial target system to support military training and testing needs.
