16--Integration of Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) into MH-60R/S Aircraft

The Naval Air Systems Command plans to place an order under the existing Basic Ordering Agreement with Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, located in Owego, NY, to integrate the Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) software module into the Avionics Operating Program and Flight Management Program software for the MH-60R and MH-60S helicopter platforms. This contract encompasses a range of activities including the initial customization of the GPWS software, development of new software releases incorporating GPWS interfaces, integration and testing of the system, flight test support to verify GPWS performance, and provision of integrated logistics support. Lockheed Martin Systems Integration is uniquely qualified for this effort as the sole developer and manufacturer of the MH-60R/S avionics suite, possessing exclusive knowledge, expertise, and data access necessary to execute the work. The effort serves to enhance the avionics capabilities of these helicopter platforms by adding critical ground proximity warning functionality, thereby improving flight safety. The contract is managed by the Naval Air Systems Command from Patuxent River, Maryland, with Gregory J. Webster and Emily D. Harman designated as contract specialists to oversee this acquisition. The effort will leverage the existing contractual framework, ensuring a streamlined process for software integration and testing, ultimately supporting operational readiness and mission success for the MH-60R/S fleets.
